Ploughgate Creamery’s small batch cultured butter has been made by Marisa Mauro since 2014. It takes a full 24 hours to culture this butter, but that extra time is the reason it has such exceptional depth, flavor, and texture. Marisa started out working in small Vermont dairies when she was just 15 years old, and founded Ploughgate when she was only 23. In 2022 Marisa partnered with Maplebrook Farm, moving into their facility and expanding her production. She’s now able to produce more of her highly sought after butter and provide us with some to share. We stock Marisa’s 8 ounce salted cultured butter, and we offer preorders for the rest, including some fun flavored selections like seaweed or chocolate.
