Schoch Family Farmstead
United States
Schoch Family Farmstead was established in 1944 when brothers Adoph and Ernest emigrated from Switzerland to the Salinas Valley in Monterey County for its ideal conditions for dairying. The farm is owned and operated by Ernest’s son John Schoch and his three sons — Ty, Seth, and Beau. They began producing cheese after Beau took a production class in 2006 and have been slowly growing into the market ever since. They milk close to 80 Holstein cows and partner with local conservation organizations on projects (native hedgerow plantings, riparian habitat restoration, improved pasture management and rotational grazing and more) to keep their land happy and healthy for future generations. We’re proudly stocking their Monterey Jack, East of Edam and a truly mind-blowing Pepperjack. The rest of their offerings are available via special order.
