ABOUT US

We are an independent specialty food distribution based in Los Angeles, California serving the restaurant and hospitality industry. We were founded in 1989 by Nicole Grandjean and are run today, by her son, Steven Grandjean & a dedicated staff. We are direct importers for many of the items we sell. We endeavor to work as much as possible with small, independent & artisan producers. People that understand that Food Matters. Ingredients Matter. We also work closely with many American Artisan producers.

PRICING

Our wholesale pricing is based on frequency of purchase and/or volume. We do not have a "standard" price-list, but we will happily provided you with a quote on any items of interest.

MINIMUM ORDER

We have a minimum order of $350 per delivery in the greater Los Angeles area & $450 beyond.

ORDERING

Once account is approved orders may be placed via email, text, or on the phone - we love speaking to our customers! Sorry, online ordering is not yet available).

DELIVERY

We deliver to qualifying customers with our fleet of trucks in the greater Los Angeles area. If you are out of state or outside our delivery area, we can ship your order to you (see details below).

SHIPPING

Outside our delivery area, we ship via FedEx as well as other 3rd party carriers. Due to the large volume of shipping we do, we have highly-discounted shipping rates that we gladly pass along to our customers. Because of the perishable nature of most of our products, perishable items ship to arrive overnight. All other items can ship ground. Shipping rates are calculated based on total weight shipped. Please speak with a rep for further information or to request a shipping quote.

PAYMENT

Qualifying local customers may apply for open credit terms. Out-of-state and other non-qualifying customers will require a credit card for purchases.

Be a company in the restaurant, retail food and/or hospitality industry.
Operate from a commercial location - sorry, we cannot deliver or ship wholesale orders to residential locations.

Commercial Customers Terms of Sale

*HOW YOU ARE CHARGED*
The majority of items we sell are charged based on the actual weight of the product shipped multiplied by the product’s price per pound, as the majority of items we sell vary in weight.  Just like at the butcher shop or your local grocery store, sizes of all meat products constantly vary and therefore you are charged by the weight shipped.  All shopping cart prices you see while checking out are estimated charges, and your credit card will only be authorized for this amount when you complete your purchase.  When your order ships, your credit card will be charged based on the weight of each item shipped multiplied by its price per pound.  You will receive an updated and finalized receipt when your order ships showing you the actual weights shipped for each item and your finalized order total.  You can check each product’s detail page to view the product’s price per pound and the general weight range that the product ships in.  Please note that the weight range is an estimate, and the final product shipped may vary slightly from this estimate.  If you need a specific weight of an item shipped, please make sure you call us after completing your order.

Your credit card will be charged twice for each wholesale order. It will be charged the first time when the order ships for all products shipped. It will be charged again a second time for the costs of shipping the order once we are billed by FedEx.  A sample of estimated shipping costs for each zone will be sent to you once your wholesale account is approved so you are aware of the general costs of shipping.

As a wholesale customer, you will not be allowed to take advantage of any shipping discounts, flat rate shipping offers, or the shipping costs you see on your order receipt while placing an order online.  Due to the steep discounts we provide to our wholesale customers, you will be charged based on how we are charged by FedEx or the shipping provider.

*WHOLESALE APPLICATION APPROVAL*
Once you complete this application, you will have immediate access to ordering at our wholesale pricing level.  However, your first order will not be shipped and these prices are not guaranteed until we have approved your application.  It is at our discretion to approve your wholesale application.  Please fill out the form in its entirety and fax or e-mail us any required documents as noted above to be considered for this program properly.

*WHOLESALE PRICING*
Wholesale pricing is displayed on our site once you have logged into our system. When you are looking to place a wholesale order, please first log in to your account prior to adding items to your shopping cart.

*MINIMUM ORDER AMOUNT*
There is a $300.00 minimum purchase per order for wholesale accounts.  You can still purchase less than the $300.00 minimum per order, however it would be at the regular retail pricing, not at our wholesale prices.  Please setup a separate account for purchasing less than $300.00 at our retail pricing level.

*CUT TO ORDER PRODUCTS*
Some products we sell show as being cut to order.  For example, take an 11 lb Wagyu Rib Eye that is cut to order.  We provide options on the ordering screen for the cut thickness that you can choose from.  If there’s a cut thickness that you prefer that is not listed, please call us after completing your order and we’ll be happy to arrange that for you.  Please note however that when you buy a cut to order product, not all of the pieces in the shipment will be the exact thickness you have requested, especially when you order larger size cut thicknesses.  Our expert butchers cut the product based on typical butcher cutting standards, and therefore there will be “end” pieces and some trim/waste pieces that will not match the exact size you requested.  You will still get these too in your shipment.  If you want all of your items to be the same size, then we do also offer pre-cut, pre-portioned pieces of many items that will all arrive to you at the same size.

*ORDER FULFILLMENT TIME*
Orders received before 2:00 pm ET are typically processed the same day, except during holiday times during which the same day shipping cut off time may be earlier during the day. If your order has an out of stock item in it, this may delay the shipping of your order. We suggest for faster fulfillment to select to SUBSTITUTE out of stock items.

The order details screen on the top right of this page provides an estimated shipping date that your order is expected to ship on.  Please note that this is only an estimate.  Orders that contain cut to order products, may take up to 3-5 business days to get into our cut room to cut.  If you need a product shipped fast, you can always order our portioned products or have the cut to order item shipped to you whole, uncut.  Each product’s detail page provides an estimate of the lead time typically required before the item can ship.  Almost all products, except cut to order items, can ship the same day.  Cut to order items will always take at minimum one business day before they can reach our cut room to be cut.

We only process orders Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm ET. No orders are processed or ship over the weekend or on national holidays. Items containing perishable food items can only ship out Monday through Friday.  If you would like your order to ship on Friday, you must select the “Saturday Delivery” shipping option, otherwise Priority and Standard Overnight shipments will ship Monday – Thursday.

*SHIPPING RESTRICTIONS*
At this time we are unable to offer delivery to P.O. boxes, or APO/FPO addresses. We also only deliver to the continental United States, Hawaii and Alaska.  Wholesale orders can only ship to registered business addresses.

*SIGNATURE RELEASE OR SIGNATURE REQUIRED OPTION*
Although we do provide the option for you to select whether you want an order to be left at the door if nobody is home to sign for it, the decision to leave the package or not is at the sole discretion of the shipping carrier's delivery driver. If your area is deemed to be a high-crime or unsafe area, the driver will not leave the package. If you are delivering to an apartment or condo that does not have a receiving area for packages, the carrier's delivery driver will also not leave the package outside of your door. Gourmet Imports cannot be responsible for packages that are not left due to the named circumstances above. Please take care in having orders delivered to an address where you know someone will be home. Packages over $700 in value will require a signature and someone will need to be home to receive it.

*SHIPPING OPTIONS*
Packages are shipped using FedEx and we offer 5 shipping options, Priority Overnight, Standard Overnight, 2nd Day, Ground and Saturday Delivery. Please note that Priority Overnight service and Saturday Overnight service is not available in all areas, and an order that ships with a Priority Overnight service may arrive in the afternoon, depending on your delivery zip code, as determined by FedEx. We cannot offer any shipping refund for packages that miss their estimated delivery time by FedEx.

*OUT OF STOCK ITEMS AND PRODUCT AVAILABILITY*
Some of the products that we offer are subject to variables such as weather and seasonal factors, and therefore may not be available at all times. We give you the option to choose how you want Gourmet Imports to handle your order should one or more of your items be out of stock upon shipping. If you do select SUBSTITUTE as your option, you agree to accept the substitute you receive.

*PRODUCT FRESHNESS*
GourmetFoodStore.com holds the highest quality standards of freshness and quality. To ensure that you receive all your products in optimal condition, we carefully pack them in an insulated Styrofoam box with dry ice, or frozen gel packs, depending on the products included in the order. This packaging is designed to maintain full product freshness while in transit.

Our stringent packing methods and temperature control packaging allows our products to remain fresh and in their original condition even if ambient temperatures fall below zero or over 95 degrees Fahrenheit, regardless of carrier or transit times.

All orders that include perishable items require Overnight shipping. We strongly encourage that you or someone else be available at the delivery address to sign for the package and refrigerate perishable items upon delivery. You may choose for the package to be left at your door, but Gourmet Imports cannot take responsibility should the items spoil while being left at your door. To safeguard against unforeseen and unlikely delays in the transportation process, part of the product may be frozen to preserve freshness. Some products have been subjected to thermal treatment to preserve their freshness and taste.

*RETURN POLICY / ORDER CANCELLATION*
Gourmet Imports will be happy to replace or issue store credit for any item(s) in the unlikely event that they might have spoiled during transit or if there is a quality issue with a product.  Do not throw out any items you feel have spoiled, as we may need these items returned.  We will not be able to issue an exchange or store credit if you have thrown out the item without our authorization. Additionally, in order to receive store credit or an exchange for a spoiled item you must contact us within 1 business days of receiving your order.  We will not be able to issue store credit or an exchange if you contact us after 1 business day of receiving the order. To make sure that you are satisfied with the products you receive, please inspect the contents as soon as they arrive to your door.

We are not able to accept returns on any of our perishable food items.  All sales of perishable food items are final.

If you decide you wish to cancel an order that has not yet shipped, please contact us immediately.  We will do our best to cancel the order before it ships but cannot guarantee that it will be possible.  Cut to order items cannot be canceled once they have been cut within our cut room.  It is not possible to cancel orders once they are placed between November 10 and January 1 due to the high order volume of the holidays.

*PERISHABLE ITEMS* 
To ensure that these highly perishable items reach your home at the height of their freshness, any orders including perishable items will be shipped via Overnight shipping service. For optimal freshness and fullest enjoyment of our products, we strongly recommend that you or someone else is there to sign for the package(s) when it arrives at your address in order to ensure that items can be properly refrigerated or frozen as soon as possible. You may choose for the package to be left at your door, but Gourmet Imports will not take responsibility if the items spoil while at your doorstep. To enjoy the full flavor and freshness of our exquisite products, we urge you to make the necessary arrangements beforehand. If you are not home to receive an order and it is not left at your doorstep, the order will be returned to the shipping carrier’s distribution facility and if it contains perishable items it may spoil at your expense.  In this event please contact the carrier to arrange to pick it up from the carrier directly.  Gourmet Imports cannot be responsible for packages that are brought back to the carrier’s warehouse because nobody was home to receive the order.

*PRICING CHANGES* 
Our products are subject to availability due to weather and seasonal variations. Gourmet Imports reserves the right to make changes to its pricing to reflect changes in market supply. We pledge to make the customer aware of any changes as soon as it is possible.
